People frequently ask me why I embarked on an adventure as ambitious as the Cancun- Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival: 30 exciting events over 4 days, with an amazing line-up of Celebrity Chefs, Star Wineries & Spirits.

Truth is, it started as a dream and ended up as a rendezvous with destiny.

I have traveled to Mexico over the last 30 years and fell in love with the country’s diverse and spectacular regions; appreciative of its happy and service-minded people; and delighted by its culinary talents, unique ingredients and yes, its world-class cuisine.

I always dreamt about doing something in the region. Little did I know back then that fate would put me in touch with the key people and institutions, at the right time.

I salute the Cancun and Riviera Maya tourism boards, Visit Mexico, American Express and Grupo Herdez who supported me when it still was a distant project. Thanks to them and the impressive list of prestigious sponsors that followed, including Nespresso, Nestle, Travelocity, Grupo Modelo, Guillesa International, Porsche and Viking, the dream became reality. Thanks also to the talent and dedication of our festival team, thousands of guests from all over the world will experience one of the most memorable festivals in the Americas.
