Mikel Alonso García graduated with honors from Luís Irizar’s Cooking School at San Sebastian. His professional career began during the 100 Years celebration of the three Michelin Stars, ARZAK Restaurant. Once at México City, Restaurant Centro Vasco gave him the opportunity of becoming Executive Chef, after that he became part of Restaurante Tezka of the Hotel Royal, Zona Rosa.

The University del Claustro de Sor Juana, was the place where he shared his passion and knowledge as professor of French and Spanish Cuisine, to later on become Chef at the Spanish Embassy in Mexico. He is advisor at “Cocina de Autor” Restaurant at Hotel Grand Velas, Riviera Maya as well as being owner of Restaurante BIKO, Mexico City, which was on the San Pellegrino’s 100 Best Restaurants of The World for two consecutive years, in 2009 No. 81 and in 2010 No. 46.

Chef Mikel Alonso is an active member of various associations and advisor of several stablishments, such as: Asociación Sukaldari, Asociación Vatel Club, Pasaje Gourmet and La Trainera, he’s been also granted a medal for Excellence on Gastronomic Trajectory by Unversidad Anáhuac Sur in 2008. As well as his restaurant he has been on the San pellegrino list of Top 50 Chefs for three consecutive years, being 38th place in 2011.
