Since she was eight years old Sonia loved cooking pastries and cakes. That passion took her to take a number of basic classes on French bakery in Mexico. At 15 she took an intensive curse on bakery and chocolate at the Culinary Institute of America. That was the moment when she decided to make a career out of her hobbie.

In 1996 she returned to the Culinary Institute of America, to study in Associates in Baking and Pastry Arts. Sonia was the first Mexican student to receive a scholarship for her excellence in CIA. In 2000 she graduated and moved to Manhattan where she had the opportunity and skills to work with some of the best chefs of the world.

In 2005 Sonia and Jared Reardon, her husband, decided to move to Mexico City to open their own restaurant. One year later their dream came true with the opening of Jaso.
